For years, I have written and spoken about the Loss of Truth—not just as a crisis of misinformation, but as a shift in how knowledge is controlled and enforced. AI does not know what is true. It has no evidence—only weights and biases that reflect patterns in its training data.

Now, AI is no longer just reflecting reality—it is being used to manufacture and control it.

🔹 AI as an Instrument of Ideological Enforcement 🔹

AI is being positioned as the perfect enforcement mechanism for ideological compliance. But AI does not decide anything—it is the people training, regulating, and deploying it who define what is acceptable. Unlike past censorship, this doesn’t silence opposition—it ensures dissent never emerges at all.

▶ Regulation as Narrative Control – The European AI Act enforces strict rules on ‘high-risk’ AI. While framed as consumer protection, its vague definition of ‘risk’ allows regulators to decide what AI can and cannot produce. If an AI-generated output is deemed to challenge ‘democratic values’ or ‘social cohesion,’ it could be restricted—not based on truth, but on who defines these terms.

▶ Economic Coercion – AI-driven ESG scoring, algorithmic risk assessments, and financial compliance dictate access to services. Businesses risk exclusion, banking restrictions, or algorithmic blacklisting if they fail to align with prevailing ideological standards.

▶ Preemptive Narrative Control – AI doesn’t just moderate content; it predicts and suppresses narratives before they take hold. Social media platforms already use AI to identify “emerging harmful trends,” de-ranking or removing discussions before they gain traction. This is not reactive censorship—it is algorithmic reality shaping.

▶ AI as a Political Gatekeeper – In Europe, new political movements face an impossible challenge: they cannot spread their ideas without being labeled as misinformation, flagged as ‘harmful,’ or buried by regulatory restrictions. AI-driven content moderation doesn’t just censor opposition—it discredits it before it can gain traction.

🔹 What Happens When Truth Is No Longer Lost—But Replaced? 🔹

In the past, ideological control required active suppression. Today, AI is being deployed - by humans - to automate ideological enforcement in ways no human system ever could.

The Loss of Truth was only the beginning. The next phase is the full automation of ideological control, where truth isn’t debated but pre-programmed, and reality itself is AI-controlled.
